After our free time, we headed off to hear an amazing private Chopin piano performance by Maciej Poliszewski in a building that was previously a bank near where Chopin lived. Lesson for today: Chopin was Polish, not French. He lived in Poland for the first 20 years, then moved to France for the last 19 years of his life. Following the concert, we drove around the city for a brief time and returned for a buffet dinner at the hotel. And now finally it is bedtime! |

It's been a long day/night of travel. We left Chicago at 4:10 pm on Sunday and arrived in Warsaw at about noon on Monday (3 am in Chicago time, but who's counting?). We checked into our hotel and had a little time to unwind, shower, eat some meal that should be breakfast but is lunch instead, wander around the huge shopping mall directly across from our hotel.
In just a little while we'll all meet up to go hear a Chopin concert and then have dinner together. I hope I don't fall asleep during the concert. I took a few photos right around the hotel. You can see them here. I'm sitting here falling asleep at the keyboard. Time to go walk around! Sheri Welcome to the TravelBlog. While we're traveling , we'll try to use this blog to help you enjoy the virtual trip even if you can't come along!
